Design meets comfort: architectural apartments with optimal indoor climate

Comfortable architectural living in the heart of Espoo

Tapiolan Feenix, designed by architect Antti-Matti Siikala, is located in one of the most sought-after areas of Espoo, Finland. The building is not only close to a variety of amenities but also near the waterfront, allowing the top floors to offer stunning views of the sea and Otsolahti bay.

Tapiola Feenix provides individual living with well-planned and functional spaces, featured with smart indoor climate solutions that make life both easier and more comfortable.

A complete indoor climate solution

The modern architecture of this building is reflected its in impressive glass surfaces which allow for plenty light to the beautifully designed apartments. The indoor climate solution from Swegon integrates nicely into this setting. Kristo Herold, CEO of the project management company MaxBuild Oy, explains:

- Few suppliers of indoor climate solutions come close delivering such diverse range of products and systems. Swegon practically offers something for every need.

For this project, we provided GOLD air handling units for supply air and central air treatment, and apartment-specific CASA units for air conditioning with complementary cooker hoods.

A good indoor climate thanks to high-quality products

The construction of Tapiola Feenix focused on fine details and quality, including the choise of provider of the indoor climate solution. It needed to be energy-effiecient and provide excellent air quality, but it was not until the designer had made thorough calculations and careful evaluations of the technological features that Swegon's products were considered.

A final, but crucial requirement, was that the supplier had to be able to reliably deliver all units for this large residential project.

From careful planning to successful installation

As MaxBuild focuses on special projects with challenging requirements on quality and sustainability, it is essential that the entire process follows a professional structure. Major contributors, such as Swegon in this case, play a vital role in making sure the project develops successfully.

Tapiola's Feenix was built in a prime location in Espoo, and Swegon solutions were chosen to ensure the best living comfort and energy efficiency.

Products used outside of the apartments

CASA for common areas

The CASA air handling units R9 and R15 are provided for ventilating the common areas at Tapiola Feenix.

GOLD RX for commercial spaces

The commercial spaces of this building are ventilated by a GOLD RX air handling unit.

Carpark ventilation using GOLD SD

A GOLD SD unit is provided for making sure the parking garage is well-ventilated.

Elegant and user-friendly technology

The apartment ventilation consists of air handling units CASA W3xs, W4xs or W5, the size of the apartment determines the appropriate model. In most apartments, these units are discreetly installed, either inside a separate cabinet or behind sliding doors.

In the kitchens, CASA Salsa or CASA Rock cooker hoods connect to the ventilation solution. These hoods are highly efficient in capturing smoke and removing odours, even with small exhaust air volume.

Both Salsa and Rock feature touch controls and LED lighting, and they are easy to clean. The key differene between the two is their installation: Salsa is a pull-out solution integrated into the kitchen cabinets and Rock is an island hood designed for open kitchen spaces.
