Hybrid climate concept for modern office spaces
A closed, jointless VARICOOL UNI solution, integrated with METAL LINE radiant baffles, was installed on the first floor. The upper floors features activated SPECTRA M-S panels with integrated Quello PAB displacement diffusers.
A headquarter focusing on sustainability and acoustic comfort
The indoor climate solution for the new headquarters of Volksbank Mittlerer Neckar, located in Wendlingen am Neckar, Germany, spanned over a total of 8 floors. The project started in 2024 and had clear requirements already from the start. Sustainability, energy efficiency and acoustic comfort should be the main priorities in regards to the indoor climate solution. The general contractor Ed. Züblin AG relied on modern and efficient building services which gave direction for the technical design responsible, Keppler + Kähn.
An integrated indoor climate concept
A high-quality climate ceiling solution from us at Swegon was selected for this multi-story building. However, the floors did not look completely alike. A closed, jointless VARICOOL UNI solution, tailored to the requirements of this new-build, was installed on the first floor, integrated with METAL LINE radiant baffles. The latter remained inactive when the project was finished, it was merely installed to prepare the building for future use or business expansion.
On the upper floors, a total of 887 activated SPECTRA M-S panels were used. These included 328 units with integrated Quello PAB displacement diffusers. These ensure uniform and draught-free air distribution.
Energy efficient and quiet
The solution that the contractor and technical designers selected ensure a comfortable working environment as it meets the high standards for thermal comfort and sound absorption. The requirements on energy efficiency was met by using the mentioned solution which is categorised as a hybrid climate ceiling. It combines concrete core activation and active heating and cooling ceilings, the latter for handling peak loads.

Last but not least – cooperation is key
As in many projects, cooperation is key for successful implementation. Coordination of additional and on-site works required close alignment between all parties, and thanks to the constructive cooperation with the subcontractor and our project team, the project was completed successfully and on schedule.
