A new-build project with ambitious sustainability targets
This new office building for Viseca Payment Services SA is located in Bioggio, Switzerland. The building features approximately 2,750 square meters of floor space, distributed over a basement, a ground floor and two upper floors. Just over 500 sqm is designed as an open-plan call centre.
When the indoor climate solution was designed, there was a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. As the building was expected to be used in various ways throughout, with different performance requirements across its indoor spaces, a bit of extra consideration was required in the planning phase of the project.
Close cooperation under a tight time schedule
Close cooperation with the planning team was established and the client's confidence in the proposed solutions was crucial to the success of the project. The very short implementation period presented a bit of a challenge, and made a precise execution plan essential. Particularly as the solution involved a wide range of different products.
An energy efficient climate ceiling solution
A complete climate ceiling solution was designed to address the different use cases throughout the building, while ensuring a consistently comfortable indoor climate and energy efficient operation. The solution builds on the principle of radiant heat which allow for moderate system temperatures for heating and cooling. This. in turn, reduces the overall energy consumption.
Offices and meeting rooms
A closed A11-C climate ceiling solution is installed in the individual offices and meeting rooms, complemented in some spaces by PARASOL comfort modules from Swegon. This to ensure a stable and efficient temperature control, even at higher loads.
The open-plan offices are equipped with a combination of A11-S climate ceiling sails, the CAURUS hybrid system and ADRIATIC chilled beams from Swegon. In one open-space office, the ADRIATIC beams were invisibly stalled above the cooling sails to meet particularly high cooling loads. This solution ensures a balanced room temperature control while offering a high degree of flexibility in space utilisation.
A combined solutions for the larger indoor spaces
METAL LINE heating and cooling baffles are used in the canteen. The solution is particularly suitable for spaces with varying usage and higher internal loads, offering a robust performance for a consistently comfortable indoor climate.
The 535 m² call center was realised using the closed A11-C climate ceiling in combination with ARCHISONIC® acoustic ceiling baffles and the AQUILO hybrid system. The ARCHISONIC® baffles enhance the architectural feeling and improve the acoustic performance of the climate ceiling. This combination creates a quiet, productive working environment and a comfortable indoor climate.
A successful end result
After a construction period of just 15 months, the result is an office building that offers a stable, comfortable indoor climate and is designed for an energy-efficient operation. This project shows how a combination of different climate ceiling solutions can achieve acoustic quality and ambitious sustainability targets.
