Room Units designed with IEQ in mind

Room Units designed with IEQ in mind

Swegon's room units are developed to deliver high indoor environmental quality (IEQ) across all building types, from offices and schools to healthcare, hotels and public spaces. Built on proven performance, human‑centred design and smart planning tools, the range combines comfort, efficiency and sustainability to support healthy indoor climates today and for the future.

Our room units range

Swegon’s room units are designed to create stable, comfortable and healthy indoor environments across a wide variety of spaces. Our portfolio includes a broad range of products from chilled beams and air diffusers to climate ceilings, both as active and passive variants. Each product engineered to deliver precise ventilation, cooling and heating where it matters most - directly in the room.

With multiple configurations, capacities and control options (CAV/VAV/DCV), our range supports both small spaces and complex buildings with diverse room layouts. Every product is designed for reliability, low noise levels and long-term performance. Whether the priority is flexibility, energy efficiency or high comfort, Swegon's room units provide a complete toolbox for shaping indoor environments that help people feel and perform at their best.

Designed for every building type

Modern buildings demand adaptable indoor environments, and Swegon room units are created to perform across a wide mix of applications. From offices and schools to hotels, healthcare buildings and public spaces, our units support the unique comfort needs of each environment. They fit seamlessly into both new construction and renovation projects, with compact options for tight ceiling solutions and high-capacity variants for demanding spaces. Whatever the building’s purpose, Swegon’s products ensure a stable, healthy and efficient indoor climate - today and well into the future.

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) at the core

Indoor Environmental Quality affects how people feel, think and perform throughout the day. Temperature, air quality, humidity, acoustics and draft levels all play a vital role - and Swegon room units are designed to balance these factors with precision. By delivering fresh air, optimal airflow patterns and temperature with quiet operation, they support focus, wellbeing and collaboration. Our solutions are developed with a strong human-centred approach, helping buildings create environments where comfort stays consistent even as occupancy, activities and conditions change.

Tested, developed and proven performance

Every Swegon room unit is the result of extensive research, testing and refinement. At our state-of-the-art development centres, we simulate real building conditions to verify comfort, acoustics, energy performance and airflows. This ensures that each product performs reliably not only in theory, but in practical, everyday use. Our engineers continuously analyse how people interact with indoor environments and use those insights to shape next-generation solutions. From prototype to final product, we follow strict quality processes and third-party standards, giving customers confidence that the room units they select are built to last. The result is performance you can trust - backed by decades of innovation.

Smart software for easy planning

To support designers, consultants, and installers, Swegon offers Room Unit Design (RUD) – a powerful, web-based tool for product selection and room unit simulation. RUD enables users to configure and dimension room units based on room type, size, airflow, cooling capacity, sound levels, and other project-specific requirements.

Multiple products and product types can be evaluated within the same room, with simulations and recommendations that help identify the most suitable solution. The 3D isovel view provides clear visualisation, while detailed calculations cover performance aspects such as pressure drop, airflow, sound levels, and COâ‚‚ content – either for the entire room or individual products.

With built-in product selection tools, catalogue search, and CAD export to common formats, RUD streamlines the design process from early planning to detailed implementation. The result is accurate data, clear guidance, and better-informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Sustainability built into every solution

Sustainability is central to how we design and develop our room units. Through responsible material choices, efficient manufacturing and high-product lifetime performance, we work to minimise environmental impact without compromising comfort or quality. Our solutions support low energy use, long service life and future-proof building performance - all essential aspects of sustainable construction. With transparent data, Environmental Product Declarations and initiatives such as RE:3, we help customers make informed choices to reduce embodied and operational carbon. At Swegon, we believe that great indoor environments and environmental responsibility go hand in hand, enabling buildings to support both people and the planet.

IEQ is invisible - until it isn’t

Indoor environmental quality affects how we feel and perform every day. Temperature, air quality, humidity and acoustics matter more than we realise.
