GOLD air handling units feature robust casing performance: air leakage L1(M), thermal transmission U1 (T2), thermal bridges TB2, and mechanical strength D1. Cover panels on the front and back have a panel thickness of 56 mm; other cover panels/inspection doors are 52 mm. Insulation with mineral wool that meets fire safety class A1. The direct-driven GOLD Wing+ fans, equipped with IE5-class EC/PM motors, provide uniform airflow and low noise levels. The fans are designed for high efficiency and can operate continuously at temperatures up to 40°C (104°F), with features for easy maintenance and vibration isolation. The supply and outdoor air filters are made from glass fiber, and the filter holder has a filter locking system designed for effective sealing (complies with the requirements for bypass leakage to Class ePM1 85% (F9)). Duct connections for sizes 004/005, 007/008, and 011/012 are circular and designed for connection to ducts with insertion joints fitted with a rubber seal ring. Units in size 014 and up have rectangular duct connections with a securely mounted connection frame for slip-clamp joint connection. The GOLD air handling units are certified by Eurovent.

The counterflow heat exchanger is, as standard, equipped with bypass dampers and heat exchanger dampers for variable and automatic regulation of the heat exchanger’s efficiency. The counterflow heat exchanger is available in two versions: Normal efficiency (MPE, Maximum Pressure Efficiency) and high efficiency (MTE, Maximum Temperature Efficiency), respectively. In the MPE version, the focus is on low pressure drop across the heat exchanger. In the MTE version, priority is given to high temperature efficiency.

The RECOflow counterflow heat exchanger, aided by the bypass and heat-exchanger damper, variably adjusts the heat exchanger’s heat recovery efficiency automatically for stable supply air temperature and occupant comfort. RECOflow has a high air-seal class, which minimizes internal leakage, making the GOLD PX an excellent choice for residential properties.

Casing externally: recycled and renewably produced steel, painted in Swegon gray metallic (RAL 9007). Casing internally: recycled and renewably produced steel, with Magnelis® surface treatment. The use of recycled and renewably produced steel in the casing leads to a significantly lower carbon footprint for the product. All surface treatments are C5. Insulation: mineral wool.

Available in multiple sizes and configurations. Duct connections can be circular or rectangular, with optional full-face end panels.

GOLD PX units size 035 and up are delivered in several transport packages and the heat exchanger section itself can be disassembled and reassembled on site to simplify site access.

GOLD units are flexible and can be integrated into complex ventilation systems. Detailed planning data is available in AHU Design selection software. BIM files and AutoCAD and Revit plug-ins are available for early project planning support.

RECOfrost is a patented, adaptive defrosting function for GOLD PX units with a counterflow heat exchanger. In cold weather and when the return air is humid, there's a risk of frost formation, which can reduce efficiency and airflow. RECOfrost automatically detects these conditions and adjusts operation to prevent frost buildup, ensuring reliable performance and energy efficiency.

With built-in intelligence, GOLD offers seamless connectivity to Building Management Systems, a secure cloud connection, and remote access from any device.

At the unit, use the IQnavigator handheld terminal or connect your computer, tablet, or smartphone and access the internal web page to manage GOLD just like on the handheld terminal.

Communication with building management systems can be established via a variety of protocols and cloud APIs. The INSIDE Connect router offers access to the internal web page.

GOLD units fulfill the extended Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for wireless products included in the CE marking. When using the internal web page, unique passwords for each GOLD unit control system are required. Each GOLD control system is equipped with a unique certificate for connecting securely to Swegon INSIDE Cloud.

IQnavigator is a lightweight handheld terminal with a 7-inch multitouch screen. The HMI has an intuitive interface designed for easy and reliable AHU management.

A dashboard shows real-time status and alarms at a glance, and a dynamic flow chart displays live performance data. Log graphs offer deeper insights and historical data. Smart guides are available to support start-up, alarm troubleshooting, and filter calibration.
