Sustainable by design. Proven in operation.
GOLD is built to reduce environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle – from material choice and manufacturing to energy use, refurbishment and digital optimisation. By combining a high degree of recycled content, excellent energy efficiency and a circular RE:3 approach, GOLD helps you meet today’s sustainability targets while preparing for tomorrow’s requirements.
Why sustainability in air handling units matters
HVAC systems represent a significant share of a building’s embodied and operational carbon. Choosing the right air handling unit has a measurable impact on total emissions, from manufacturing to end-of-life.
GOLD – a pioneer in sustainability
30+ years after its launch, GOLD continues to lead the way. We are committed to reducing the embodied carbon of our units while extending the lifespan of existing units already in the market.
We offer:
- Lower embodied COâ‚‚ with >70% recycled steel, as standard
- Reduced operational COâ‚‚ through OptiFlow that optimises airflow and smart controls
- Units designed for renovation, upgrade and long service life
- Verified data for ESG, EPBD and energy reporting
Manufactured with recycled steel inside-out
It might not actually be visible on the outside, but GOLD and SILVER are definitely green on the inside. They contain a majority of steel with a reduced carbon footprint in the casing, both internally and externally, making them unique in the industry. We are using recycled steel, which has been manufactured using renewable energy. The outcome is steel with a substantially reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional steel.
This is our standard, not an option.

The result?
This means significantly lower embodied CO2, without compromise.
- Around 30% lower carbon footprint compared to using traditional steel
- Over 70% of the total steel weight is represented by recycled steel and almost 60% of the total material weight is recycled material
The benefit?
- Advantage in projects with sustainability in focus and support in building certification protocols such as LEED and BREEAM
- Contribution to ESG reporting
Built to last. Designed for upgrade.
The casing is designed for long-term durability. With regular servicing and indoor installation, it has the technical potential for a lifespan of 50+ years. We offer technology upgrades to maintain functionality, improve energy efficiency and secure spare parts availability.
This is not a vision. Already today, we modernise 30-year-old units.
Benefits include:
- Around 75% lower CO2 impact compared to installing a new unit
- Prolonged life and secured availability of spare parts
- Extended functionality and BMS communication
- Improved energy efficiency of the fans
- Quick and easy installation
- Maintained CE-marking
Leading energy efficiency
OptiFlow optimises airflow through the entire GOLD unit, reducing pressure drops and improving fan efficiency. By redesigning key components that surround the fan wheel, enlarging the heat exchanger and introducing new filters, energy efficiency is significantly improved. The result is lower operating costs and COâ‚‚ emissions throughout the unit’s lifetime.
