CLA with 34 % lower carbon footprint

Sustainability at Swegon is essentially underlying everything we do. Especially when we develop new products. Swegon’s sound attenuator, CLA, has been a market leading product for many years and we are now proud to present a new version of the product with 34% lower carbon footprint. Further, this makes the alternative version of CLA qualified to wear the symbol for our RE:3 concept. More specifically, the exchange of materials to reduce embodied carbon goes under the RE:duce category of the concept.

CLA - RRP Recycled and renewably produced

Swegon’s sound attenuator, CLA, has been a market leading product for many years. It is a rectangular, compact sound attenuator with circular connection, that has very good sound attenuation and extremely low installation height.

Swegon has chosen to use steel called RRP, with RRP standing for “recycled and renewably produced”. It has a recycled steel content ratio of at least 75 percent. In addition, the manufacturing process uses electric arc furnaces that run on 100 percent renewable energy. Our CLA sound attenuator is available with this steel, which will lowers the product's carbon footprint by 34% compared to the traditional CLA. The CLA with renewable steel will initially be avaliable in selected sizes, a great customer offering in our work to become more sustainable!

Within Swegon, we have "Feel Good Inside" as a slogan. It is aimed both at ensuring that we offer a good indoor climate, but also that it should feel good to work at Swegon. When we made the decision to invest in steel with low CO2 impact, it really felt good inside.

RE:duce - reducing levels of embodied carbon

RE:duce is one of the three pillars within the RE:3 framework. RE:duce means that we are reducing the use of materials containing substantial levels of embodied carbon in our products.

By changing traditional steel used in the CLA to a steel with lower levels of embodied carbon, we have lowered the carbon footprint by 34% (compared to our traditional CLA).

This makes the new version of CLA qualified to wear the symbol for our RE:3 concept.
