GOLD with SMART Link DX and EPSILON Sky
The SMART Link DX and Epsilon Sky optimize temperature control and sustainability for GOLD systems, managing multiple heat pumps with seamless integration and intelligent airflow management.
Main functionality
The SMART Link DX and Epsilon Sky function for GOLD regulates the supply air temperature of the GOLD RX unit, providing cooling or heating while managing up to four EPSILON Sky reversible heat pumps. A key benefit is its easy connection, requiring only one Modbus cable between GOLD and EPSILON Sky.
Added value
All control, activation, and alarms are integrated into GOLD’s IQ-logic and IQ-Navigator. The system ensures minimum airflow for safe operation, uses the rotary heat exchanger to compensate during defrost or oil recovery, and enhances sustainability with R32 refrigerant. Multiple heat pumps offer better compliance with EN-378-1 standards, sequential defrosting, and staggered start-ups for efficient performance.

How it works
The flow chart above shows the schematics of the SmartLink DX and EPSILON Sky function. A couple of things to consider:
- GOLD controls up to one or two EPSILON Sky in sequence to keep required supply air temperature
- The neutral zone can be set when unit is not operating
- Regulation can also be based on room temperature, extract air temperature, or outdoor air related extract air tempature
- If more than one EPSILON Sky is connected to the GOLD, functions like sectional de-frosting, and unit with lowest running time will start first are available
- All units in operation are working with the same power (parallel)
Technical details
- In GOLD, when selecting SMART Link DX function, the control system automatically activates the extra regulation sequence
- GOLD controls the heat pump 0-100% (0-10V) to keep either supply air temp, room air temp or extract air temp at set point. Neutral zone function is used to set start limits for cooling and heating
- Additional functions can be used to influence the supply air temp set point: Extract air compensation, Outdoor air related extract air compensation & summer night cooling
