Electronic occupancy detector
FUNCTION
KSO is an IR-type electronic occupancy sensor for the e.r.i.c. system, for switching the room regulators between occupied and unoccupied states.
QUICK FACTS
- IR sensor of double enclosure type
- Available for ceiling- or wall installation
- Adjustable for the best room coverage
- Silent digital switches
- Changeover normally open and normally closed
- Adjustable on/off switching delay
- Can control on/off switching of lighting via KCD and KRF
- White enclosure

DESIGN
KSO is an occupancy sensor of an IR type, i.e. a heat sensing sensor that reacts quickly to human presence in the room. The IR lens has a coverage area depending on type, see figures. The sensor features connections for normally open (NO) and normally closed contacts (NC) and adjustable delay between 0-25 minutes. A delay of 0 is used in the e.r.i.c. system, the required delay is set on the regulator connected to KSO. The switching delay as standard, set at 10 sec.
MATERIALS AND SURFACE TREATMENT
All parts are designed in PVC free plastic and where ABS-plastic is mainly used.
INSTALLATION (See figure 1)
KSO can be installed in different places and heights in the room. The occupancy sensor should be placed so that it is not blocked by book shelves or partition walls and must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Corner placement at max. 2 m above the floor is recommended to give the best possible coverage. The sensor’s printed circuit board should be adjusted to the corresponding position for the installation height in question, see table 1 and figure 2. Several sensors can be used in large rooms.
MAINTENANCE
Dirty products may only be cleaned by wiping or vacuum cleaning.
DECLARATIONS
The product is CE marked.
CE declaration and Environmental Product Declaration are available from our website.
PLANNING
The occupancy sensor is used to minimise energy consumption in unused areas. Max recommended room area is 100 m2. Several occupancy sensors connected in parallel to the room regulator are recommended to give the best operation in large rooms where coverage lies outside of D (m) in table 1 The switching delay should not be activated when KSO is used for simultaneous light control. The switching off delay is managed by the e.r.i.c. regulators. Recommended placing is, for KSO V110 in a corner and for KSO T360 in the middle of the ceiling.
CONNECTION
KSO is connected to a 24 V AC supply and is fuse protected with max 6 A. All other connections are made according to the wiring diagram for the product that KSO is to be connected to, see KCD, KCW or KRF.
Coverage area
Data for the different settings and the area the occupancy sensor can monitor are obtained from figure 2 and table 1. The corverage area as shown in the figure 3.
