KSMb
System Manager for energy optimization of fans

FUNCTION
KSM is a small computer with LONTALK® communications for energy optimisation in the e.r.i.c. system. KSM communicates with the pressure regulating damper in the system and minimises its throttling and in doing so the fan speed.

QUICK FACTS
  • Energy optimisation of ventilation systems
  • Minimises damper throttling
  • Up to 35 supply air and 15 exhaust air dampers can be checked
  • Minimises the fan speed
  • LONTALK®-connection for communications
  • Enclosure class IP 20 or IP 54

DESIGN
KSM is available in two variants, unenclosed in enclosure class IP 20, or in an enclosed design with cable glands in enclosure class IP54.

MATERIALS AND SURFACE TREATMENT
All plastic parts are completely PVC free and are generally made of ABS-plastic.

INSTALLATION
KSM can be installed in an optional position in the climate-conditioned area, in the vicinity of the ventilation unit, or its control cubicle. KSM has a DIN-rail mounting and screw holes. KSM with enclosure is screwed to an optional surface.

COMMISSIONING
KSM is normally supplied configured with regulation parameters adapted for the zone damper's optimal performance. The number of connected (bound) zone dampers in KSA must be programmed in order for the
optimization process to work. Programming can be done by using the operator panel KOP, more information is available in the commissioning manual for the e.r.i.c. system.

MAINTENANCE
Dirty products may only be cleaned by wiping or vacuum cleaning.

DECLARATIONS
The product is CE marked.
CE declaration and Environmental Product Declaration are available from our website.

PLANNING
A comprehensive planning guide that describes the overall e.r.i.c. concept is given in the technical section. The System Manager controls the ventilation unit via LONTALK® parameters for pressure control on the supply and exhaust air fans. The unit must be equipped with LONTALK® -communications and pressure control of respective fans. LONTALK®-communications take place with variables according to the listed Lonmark objects and network variables.KSM “binds” with the help of LONMAKER™ for Windows or the like on-site, once the bus has been connected to all units that KSM should optimize. You can “bind” a maximum of 50 regulation dampers of the type KZP, KZM, KRF or KSA to KSM, with a maximum of 35 supply and maximum 15 exhaust air units.KSM controls the set pressure on connected fans by using the LONMARK®-object which changes the set point value for the fan pressure. A prerequisite is that fan control using with LONTALK® -communications is available. The system's supply and exhaust air fans should be speed regulated to a pressure set point value on the supply and exhaust air ducts. KSM adjusts these set point values.

Lonmark objects and network variables
The figure below shows the standard objects applicable for KSM. Further information is available in the commissioning instructions for the e.r.i.c. system. All documents are available for download from our website. “xif-files” are available for download from our website. The variables 58, and 21 or 61, and 16 or 62, and 15 or 60, and 10 or 59 must be bound to the system's LON module, to obtain correct functionality.

CONNECTION
KSM is connected to a 24 V AC supply and is fuse protected with max 6 A.
